For the 20th time, the Santa Claus train took around 700 children with special needs and from difficult social backgrounds from all over Austria on an Advent weekend full of fun and action. This time the trip went to St. Pölten, where lots of adventure and creative stations and a varied program awaited the children and young people in the VAZ: Magic Franky with her magic show, special performances by the Europaballett St. Pölten, the Circus Pikard and the band Clubs & Diamonds in the main evening program.
The Advent weekend with the Santa Claus train is free for the children and is made possible by important partners from politics and business. Thanks to the ÖBB, who, as every year, provided a special train free of charge, and numerous other sponsors, the Santa Claus train was able to take place again.
The KiBiWo has been held annually in St. Pölten since 2004. It is a holiday week in which community, games and fun as well as creative engagement with the Bible, life and faith are the top priority.
For the ORF workshop, I first write the story on the respective topic, in as many sentences as there are children. At the ORF workshop itself, in the radio building, the approximately 100 children are divided into 3 groups each over 4 days, which rotate.
In the foyer, the respective sentence is rehearsed, recorded on DJ2, and on DJ1 the children have the opportunity to look over the shoulder of the presenter during a live broadcast.
At the end of the ORF workshop, I edit the approximately 100 recordings and put them together to create a unique story, which is presented to parents, friends and relatives on the "colorful evening" and in the St. Pölten Cathedral.
